Exit is an award-winning summer music festival. It is located at the Petrovaradin Fortress on the river Danube in the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. Exit is considered one of the best music festivals in the world.
Exit is unique in the festival world because it started as a student movement fighting in 2000 for peace and democracy in Serbia and the Balkans. It was founded by Dushan Kovachevich, Bojan Boshkovic and Ivan Milivojev.
Exit lasts four days, starting on the second Thursday of July.
Exit festival has won the “Best Overseas Festival” award in the UK Festival Awards in 2007, and it has been ranked one of the top major festivals at the European Festivals Awards.
More than 2.5 million people from over 60 countries around the world have visited Exit. Exit has many key stages.
First is the Main Stage – this stage is situated at the very heart of Petrovaradin Fortress, and has a capacity of 35,000 people.
Next up is the Dance Arena – this arena is considered one of the best electronic arenas in the world. This arena can host more than 25,000 people. The show on the Dance Arena starts in the evening and plays all night long, until dawn.
The Explosive Stage – this is a place for the harder music genres – like metal, punk, HC etc.
Fusion Stage is one of the best stages at the festival – it hosts some of the most prominent pop, rock and alternative performers.
